Education: M.Ed. in secondary English; B.A. in English literature

Experience: I taught English literature and writing in public and private schools, middle grades through college, for over seven years. In my writing courses, I helped design the curriculum and choose the texts to implement. I focused on grammar, content, technique, and research methods, to include source citations in various formats.

Currently, I home educate my four children. Elizabeth is 12.5 in the 7^th grade. Victoria is 7 and Katherine is almost 6; they’re in 1^st grade. Alexander is 3 and in preschool. The curriculum we use is focused on literature, history, and writing. I am a grammar maven and impeccable speller. We do not even use a formal language arts curriculum in our homeschool. I just teach it from the hip!

I edit essays for friends taking university courses and my military husband’s work related reports. I look forward to working with you on your projects!

Expectations: Please email your document as a Microsoft Word or convertible file attachment. Just make sure you save in the MS Office default file types if you need to send your documents to anyone (such as .doc). I will return the edited document to you with suggested revisions marked with explanatory notes. You may accept or reject them. You have ultimate control. I won’t change your voice. I won’t be your English teacher. I focus on substantive editing, copyediting, and proofreading. I am eager to correspond and answer any questions you may have.
